There are a lot of herbs in the world. They can be classified into three which are medicinal herb, cooking herb and poisonous herb.

Medicinal Herb


The first one is medicinal herb. It is also known as botanical medicine or phytomedicine. Phytomedicine can be divided into two.
         

          • Primary metabolite - we can found sugars and fats in the plants.
         

          • Secondary metabolite – there are compounds which can be found  

                                         in the plant.

       

                                        Toxic - used to prevent the plant from predators.
         

                                        Pheromones – it attracts insects and it will be very used 

                                                         for pollination.   â€‹

Medicinal can be divided in to two groups based on their benefits that they are produced. Not all plant produces the same. The first one can be group under angiosperms. That means this type of herb is flowering plants. This kind of herb is produce flowers. Next is gymnosperm. This type of group is contributed its roots, leaves, flowers, stems, fruit and bark of the flowering plants, trees and shrubs as its benefits.









Cooking Herb



Cooking herb is also known as culinary herb. It is very popular and important in the cooking. The main purpose why this herb is very useful in cooking is to enhance and give flavour to the cooking. Normally, the fresh herb is used in cooking.  The herb will give a sweet smell and better taste in cooking. There are a lot of herbs that has been used in cooking especially in western food, Malay cuisine, Europe cuisine and Asia food. It is very famous and the researchers had did research that herbs do not have fat and calories and healthy to be used. All the parts of the herb such as its flower, leaves and stems are used in cooking.


Some herbs have been dried. The dried version is still been used in cooking even though there is fresh herb. There are few tips for the dried herb in order to increase the flavour in cooking. Firstly, we need to grind the herb by using the blender. We also can even toast or dry roast the herb in medium heat before used it in the cooking.

Poisonous Herb



The poisonous herb means the herb when we touched it, it will give harmful to us. So, that is why the older always advise to be careful when touching the plant. This is the way the herb protects itself because the herb cannot move to protect itself. The poisonous herb may harm ourselves as it may cause injury, pain and death.
